Corinne :
I have been living in Tunisia for a few years, and it is my heart to transmit permaculture. In October 2014, I organized the first PDC (permaculture design course) in Tunisia. It was Moilamain, trainer at the Ecocentre of Périgord who taught it. I took the opportunity to take this course and get a second certificate.
In March 2016, I organized and co-taught a second PDC with another trainer, Massi Miatton. This course brought together a dozen participants mostly from Tunisia and also Algeria and even Belgium.
Since May 2015 when I hosted my first permaculture initiation weekend, I am expanding the offer of training available on the farm or at home. My pedagogy is influenced by Robin Clayfield and others. Because I search for permacultural ways to teach : dynamic, participative and appealing to all the senses.
In order to give impulse to the diffusion of permaculture in Tunisia, I co-founded the Tunisian Association of Permaculture in 2015. I was at the initiative of the first seeds sharing festival of Tunisia. I carried this project within the Association in its friendly and multidimensional form. And the first seed festival in Tunisia has been a great success. The actors that we gathered were delighted to be able to exchange and meet. The public was at the rendezvous and the market of small producers worked well.
Basset:
My encounter with permaculture, at the same time as Corinne, coincided with my desire to find my roots in the country of my ancestors, Tunisia.
At that time, we lived in a yurt at the foot of Mont Ventoux (France), a simple life in harmony with nature. We cultivated an organic garden and collected honey from a small hive. I have experienced natural beekeeping, in hives trunks, without transhumance and with a minimum of interventions.
These four years lived thus anchored in me the will to continue in this way of cooperation with nature and simplicity.
In 2013, I had the opportunity to follow a Certified Permaculture Design Course, taught by Andy and Jessie Darlington, at the Saladou, an eco-village of permaculture in the Eastern Pyrenees.
I have been living my dream for a few years now. Thanks to permaculture, the farmer profession sounds positive. I see opportunities to meet the basic needs of my family and more.
I put at the service of volunteers and trainees my field experience in gardening, soft cutting, beekeeping, eco-construction ... with my own sensitivity.
